Wine Profile

Ratings Rated 91 Points Wine Spectator - "A solid, pure style, with a beam of very fresh plum, black cherry and toasted anise notes moving through, followed by pretty hints of tar and red licorice on the polished, accessible finish. Shows more balance than oomph and should hang on nicely in the cellar. Drink now through 2020. 1,200 cases imported. –JM"
Awards Rated 89 Points Robert Parker - "Chapoutier’s 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape La Bernardine (100% Grenache) exhibits notes of loamy soil, cranberries, black cherries, bouquet garni and a touch of licorice. Medium to full-bodied and pure with good acidity, more minerality than is normally found in this cuvee, and a long finish, it should drink well for 10-15 years"
Production Notes The grapes are carefully selected during the harvesting. Compulsory to obtain the Appellation, this sorting allows to have the best bunches of grapes. The vinification is carried out in the traditional way in concrete tanks. This is an about three-week fermention with a high temperature to ensure an optimal extraction of the colour and tannins. Matures mainly in concrete tanks between 12 and 15 months.
Food Pairing Notes Tuna fish carpaccio. Marinated meats or ones in sauces; Large game. All cheeses.
