Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Complex and subtle aromas of quince, walnut, honey and ginger. A straight forward attack on the palate, however not aggressive. Flavours of almond, honey and ginger contribute to a very elegant and long finish.
Awards
Rated 93 Points Wine Spectator - "Salted butter, chamomile, lemon rind and white peach notes course along, inlaid with honeysuckle and verbena notes. The long, mineral-driven finish harnesses everything, letting bitter citrus and almond accents linger. Drink now through 2022. 1,200 cases imported. –JM"
Vineyard Notes
Hermitage wines possess a rich historical past. They were appreciated as early as on Roman times when they were enjoyed under the name "Vienne wines" and later "Saint Christopher's hillside wines" because of a chapel bearing the saint's name.
Production Notes
Hand harvest at maturity with one third being vinified in large, 600 litre wooden barrels and the other in concrete vats. The wine is checked by frequent tastings. The statistics taking during this period will determine how long the wine shall mature in vat, typically 10 to 12 months.
