APRIL EVENTS

April 11-12, 2014
Ridge Lytton Springs 2009
Dry Creek Valley, California
2:00 - 6:00PM

Bottled on February 2011, the Ridge Vineyards 2009 Lytton Springs is a blend of 71% Zinfandel, 23% Petite Sirah and 6% Carignane. The grapes were all hand-picked and fermented on their natural yeast. The wine is aged in American Oak, twenty percent of the barrels being new wood. Opulent and well structured, this wine will age for another 10 to 15 years, or it can be enjoyed now as a rich and fruity treasure.

April 18-19, 2014
Castello di Querceto Cignale 2007
Tuscany, Italy
2:00 - 6:00PM

A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, this Super Tuscan comes from some of Italy's finest terriors. It was named Cignale (ancient Tuscan for 'wild boar') when these animals wiped out the first vintage. Layers of fruit with lots of tannic heft to back it up, this elegant red is graced with structure and great longevity. Enjoy now or cellar away for another decade.

April 25-26, 2014
Pegasus Bay Pinot Noir 2009
Waipara Valley, New Zealand
2:00 - 6:00PM

Pegasus Bay is a small family owned and operated winery situated in the North facing terraces of Waipara Valley. 2009 was one of the best vintages they have seen, with slightly lower yield on the crops but with with a warm summer and a long, cool Autumn. This resulted in an extra level of vibrancy and finesse. The aromas of the wine hint at dark blackberries and black cherries. These impressions of fruit are underlain with savoury notes hinting of grilled mushrooms, barbequed meats and wood-smoke

May 2-3, 2014
Ridge Geyserville 2009
Dry Creek Valley, California
2:00 - 6:00PM

With limited amounts of winter rain and perfect weather during bloom, this block had an exceptionally good crop. A blend of 74% Zinfandel, 17% Carignane, 6% Petite Sirah (3% Other varietals), the individual parcels were fermented seperately from each other. After fermentation, the parcels with the most character were selected and blended. Fifteen months in barrel has given the core fruit of the wine a spicy edge and superb balance. This fine wine is enjoyable now, but will continue to develop over the next 15 years.
